Members of our team are Senior Move Managers whose specialty is helping older adults and their families, with the daunting process of downsizing and moving to a new residence. Whether it is a home or apartment, a senior living facility or other living accommodation, we work together with seniors at every step of the transition, from deciding what furnishings to keep to selling the property and assisting in the actual move to another residence. At no point will your client or loved one be left alone to deal with any task of this daunting transition.
Estates and Probate
We offers a unique service to families, executors and trustees of estates who need to close down and sell a client’s or loved one’s property. Whether it’s a home, cottage, farm or condo it is often one of the most valuable assets of the estate. Process:
We will meet with you or your representative to understand your objectives regarding the property. We suggest a preliminary walk through of the property with a family member or executor.
After that we will do a second comprehensive walk though of the property and prepare a report with our recommendations.
Security of Your Property:
Keeping your property and its contents safe and secure during the time of its vacancy is a priority.
We will make recommendations regarding lighting and the locks on the home.
Maintenance and Repairs and Improvements:
Priority Maintenance:
Our first priority would be to address any conditions which may cause a safety issue in the house or may cause deterioration of any feature of the house.
Any recommendations for work will be supported with an estimate by a state licensed and insured contractor. All work will be approved by the family or executor or trustee of the estate or the family member and will be paid directly by them.
Regular Maintenance:
Depending on the time of year, regular maintenance that will need to be arranged may include: grass cutting, snow blowing, landscaping, home heating fuel deliveries etc.
Improvements: Depending on your objective in terms of the sale of the property we may make recommendations regarding certain improvements. The necessity for improvements is dictated by whether the sellers want to sell quickly as is, or want to invest time and money to receive top dollar in the sale.
